Stable

Stable can describe:

  • A phase of software development where there are few (if any) major changes -- only bugfixes and security patches. VMS is an extremely stable operating system.
  • A piece of software (for example an operating system) that runs reliably and does not crash.
  • A building with a door that you shut after a horse has bolted.
