Openoffice.org
From LXF Wiki
An open source office suite, famous for including built-in 'have a break' functionality in the splash screen. Aware that an increasing number of computer users are suffering from RSI, OpenOffice.org's developers wrote a pile of random code and introduced it into the startup routine - taking minutes to complete and forcing users to have a rest.
Other open source projects have keenly adopted the idea. GNOME, for instance, gives users a tea break while the desktop starts. Metacity has been written to perform much slower than other window managers, so that users aren't confused by rapidly moving objects.
