Printer driver for Lexmark X1160

Postby Davido02 » Fri May 27, 2005 12:15 pm

Im using a Lexmark X1160 printer/copier/scanner but this excellent little printer combo does not have a linux driver available. In fact linuxprinting.org advises avoiding Lexmarks all together.

Is there anyway of getting this printer to work under Linux specifically FC v3?

Best Regards

David

linuxprinting.org is right. Unless its a business model, you've got an expensive paperweight there. For some reason Lexmark home printers _never_ have Linux drivers, while their business ones _sometimes_ do :(

Have you checked the Lexmark website? They keep their few Linux drivers well hidden so its easy to miss them. Also, if there is a driver it probably won't work with CUPS :(
