does anyone know of any good winter carping lakes in the wigan area?

I've heard that northerners like carping a lot, but I didn't realise they had special lakes for it. Wouldn't anywhere do for a good grumble?

no, it can only be done whist sitting around a freezing lake for about seven hours :D

or several kilos of nitrogen based explosives.
My family used to own fishing lakes in Essex, aparently you could catch carp there but all I got was rainbow trout :)

not in the wigan area, but you could try hatchmere lake in delemere forest. its just down the road (north central cheshire).
