New X10 OS free netbook from Novatech

Postby ajgreeny » Fri May 07, 2010 7:55 pm

I have just received a new X10 netbook from Novatech
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/lapt ... white.html (but at £189 a week ago, not £199), and put Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 on it. It took about 15 mins to install from start to finish, takes less than 30 secs to boot from power-on switch to the full desktop, and absolutely everything works without any tinkering at all.

This is the first netbook I've ever used, but I have to admit I am very impressed, not only with the machine but also with UNR 10.04, and with Novatech, who I used many years ago, but had not done so again until now.

Great that you can get their hardware with no OS, and they also have a very good active forum for their linux users.
