Not good news!

Surely a good case could be made to the effect that patenting law in the US is damaging invention rather than promoting it (as the notion of patents is supposed to do). After all, there's a manifest contradiction between promoting innovative competition and a legal device that supports monopolistic exclusivity.

This only applies in the US; patent trolls always use these jury courts in Texas because it is easy to bamboozle a jury; I have no doubt Google will appeal.

Apparently Red Hat are now suing Bedrock over the validity of its patent.
Another good day for lawyers.
