Vote to name an asteroid Ubuntu

The South African Astronomical Observatory is running a competition to name a recently discovered asteroid; the name is being selected by public vote from a short list of names, one of which is Ubuntu. I think it would be cool to have an asteroid named after a Linux distro, especially appropriate when its founder is an astronaut, so go vote online.

The website is http://www.nameourasteroid.org.za/ and voting is open until 31 January 2010.

There was a comma at the end of the URL, which I've removed (another reason to use url tags).

Is the asteroid brown?

You do realise the word Ubuntu was around BEFORE the distro, right?

And the original meaning has little to do with a barren lump of rock millions of miles from the nearest human being... which brings us back to the asteroid being brown as the most compelling argument for this :)
